Learning to Knit Flash backs

I started this blog as a way of holding myself accountable to the task of learning how to knit!

Getting Started

I quickly realized that blogging as well as knitting needed time and dedication.

Knitting Woes

Then there is nothing like get sidetracked in the middle of learning a new craft with a different aspect of the same craft.

Going from hand knitting to Machine Knitting

And there were plenty of Woe's with that aspect of the craft as well.

Universe is against me

I felt like I was never going to learn to knit with all the things that happened in the beginning.

My trial in persistence.

But I was victorious.

I Knew Stubbornness was a positive trait.

I knit a garment.

Review Knitting goals.

I was so happy that I had learned enough to feel good about writing a tutorial.

How to knit a bag.

Time has eluded me this past year, but I am determined to get back to Crafting and Blogging!

Here's my sneeze page I think I caught something over at the SITS community on the Blog Frog!

I am just starting to try and learn how to Tunisian Crochet which is a cross between crochet and knitting. Learning something new is hard! Sorry its taken me so long to get through the Mom Loop comment thread :)

@Rachel you just reminded me I didn't finish the Mom Loop Comment Follow. Darn.

Learning something new is hard but so rewarding when you stick to it and finish something you like!

Thank you for coming by.

@unplanned Cooking Knitting became really big a few years back and everyone was all into learning how to knit - I was so surprised. There is a time and a season for every thing. I'm sure the knitting bug will bite and you will pick it up.

I took up knitting a couple of years back. I love it even though I'm still only making scarves. The sad thing though is I recently realized that I'll have to give it up for now. I work on a computer all day and then I come home and blog and comment all night. My hands and wrists are KILLING me! My poor digits can't handle knitting too!

Colleen I'm also on the computer all day, and would notice an increase in pain after knitting then decided I really did want to knit so on the days I knew I wanted to knit at night I did only the required on the computer. That seems to be working. It also pulls me away from the computer which was something I need to do.

I've been wanting to learn to knit for awhile now. How did you start by teaching yourself? Did you read any books or anything?

@Christina - I bought and tried several books, a few kits, I watched lots of YouTube videos I had a couple of people show me how they do it (everyone does it different!) but the book that made it stick was 'Stitch 'n Bitch' book. and it only stuck after the 2nd time around.
