Resin Pendant on a fabric strap Necklace

I've got to say I'm really liking my commitment to stay off the computer for a day and just get stuff done. But this time have decided to do a blog post on each instead of just showing you all my done pictures all at once.

I have been working on this pendant for a while now, I actually did the resin and it set like stone and I didn't like it, so my daughter took a drill and broke all the resin out, you can tell by some of the scratching on the silver.

I purchased the pendant, then cut a piece of fabric to fit snug inside along the bottom. I bought the charms and with some pliers took the charm loops off. I added some beads to fill in some of the large spaces.

I followed this video tutorial on YouTube to learn how to use the Resin.

And I followed this Tutorial to do a very very thin fabric strap with the same fabric I used for the background.

Then used a crimp tube, a jump ring and added a claw closure. Feel free to let me know if you need more detailed directions?

I'm dying to work with some of that resin filler and I'm total intrigued by the fabric necklace! I LOVE that! Can you please post pictures of how you finished off the ends?

Wow! I've always wanted to try resin, but I've been to scared to buy all the supplies. Is it something you plan on doing more of? Do you have extra stuff left over or did you just buy exactly the amount you needed.

Becka I was scared of using the Resin also, The first couple of one's I did didn't turn out to good. We bought lots of supplies because my daughter is doing tile pendants for her easy shop.

I'll do a post with all of our disasters. I'll try and do that next week.

Thank you CK - I'm going to do a post explaining the process to your sister, maybe she'll make you one ;-)

Sonia, it's beautiful! I've been wanting to try working with Resin, but I haven't been able to find any decent pendants in my area. I love the way you combined the fabric and charms. Love the fabric strap too!

Thank you so much for linking up your project to "A Little Birdie Told Me..."! I always enjoy your creations and your posts. Your blog looks fantastic. The header is fabulous!

Thank you Jenn, I bought that pendant tray at Michael's I'm sure you can order them online. That one was expensive, there are some decent one's on Etsy, I've bought from http://www.etsy.com/shop/BuyJust5Supply she has some nice stuff and great customer service.
