Happy 4th of July

Oh how time fly's. Last 4th of July Michael had driven his truck home from Fort Campbel Kentucky, as he was getting ready to pack up all his stuff for deployment to Iraq. So last summer he was home for a little more than a month. The house felt normal again.

I have been feeling sick the past two days, and I know realize that it is sadness more than illness. As fast as time fly's it hasn't gone fast enough. especially when they move the coming home date by 3 months, So he won't be home in Oct, it now looks like he won't be home until Jan '09. A year is a long time but 15 months - those extra 3 months makes it feel like an eternity.

This is my son - actually step son that has been with us since he was 10 years old. I can't imagine what wife's go threw, for 15 months.

My husband served 22 year in the US Navy, but his deployments were never more than 6 months. One year he did 3 months out then one month in and then 6 months out. But with that one month in the middle you are ready to send him out again.

The current inlisted families of deployed soilders only get them for 2 weeks if that during the whole 15 months. I really feel for them.
