Recycle Jacket into a purse

For the past couple of years the sewing industry has been recycling everything - we've been doing the jeans into purses for ages now. The new twist for the last few years is Men's Jackets.

The fashion industry is a knock-off world, we get an itch to do our own. It was so much easier than I thought. I've had this Jacket hanging on my to do pile for some time. (my To Do sewing stuff hangs on my walls).



I took the easy route I opened up the jacket and placed my pattern pieces right on it, pinned them and cut out the fabric and my lining pieces all at once. It went just as fast as cutting out regular fabric.




I incorporated a pocket into my back pocket piece:






Give it a try with any pattern that you have, it's so easy!

recycle computers

I have promised myself that I will not move or store anything that I don't need or want. I seem to have been carrying a lot of stuff that I don't need or want and is not useful in anyway. Just because I didn't want to deal with it.



Old computers is on the top of that list. The computers get to a point when it's time for a new one - you then buy the new one - and I don't get rid of them because it has important information so it either must be pulled apart and the Hard drive disposed of in non recoverable parts - or I need to reinstall the Operating system and reformat the hard drive.

Well yesterday I got rid of one of those computers - I reinstalled windows 98 on a computer I purchase in 1998! That's crazy! And reformatted the Hard Drive.

I then found out that Staples has a recycle program - they don't charge for the monitors - you just fill in a form and they take them free of charge - and all other stuff they charge $10 each - lots better than some other recycle places - that's why I never wanted to deal with it - I had to pay money to get rid of it.




Well that was the windows now on to the Mac's - there are 4 of those I need to condense down to one. A New one Yay!!!
